Body Composition Analysis

Powered by InBody

The scale only tells you one number. We can tell you a lot more.

Weight alone doesn’t tell you whether you’re losing fat, gaining muscle, or just fluctuating with hydration. The InBody Body Composition Scanner gives you a complete picture of what’s actually happening inside your body, so you can make smarter decisions about your training and nutrition.

What the Scan Tells You

The InBody scan takes about 45 seconds and measures:

  • Muscle mass — how much lean muscle you’re carrying and where it’s distributed across your body.
  • Body fat — total body fat percentage and how it’s distributed, not just overall weight.
  • Hydration levels — how well hydrated you are, which affects energy, performance, and recovery.
  • Segmental analysis — a breakdown by individual body segment so you can see imbalances between left and right, upper and lower.

No guesswork, no pinching, no submersion. You stand on the scanner, hold the handles, and get results in under a minute.

Track What Actually Changes

Most people start a fitness program and judge progress by the number on the scale. That number can be discouraging even when real, meaningful changes are happening underneath it. Muscle weighs more than fat. Water fluctuates daily. The scale doesn’t know the difference.

The InBody scan gives you the data to see what’s actually shifting over time. When you rescan every four to six weeks, you can watch muscle increase and fat decrease even during periods when your weight barely moves. That kind of feedback keeps you motivated and helps Jesse fine-tune your programming based on real results.

The FAQs.

Do I need to be an Elevate client to get a body composition scan?
No. Scans are available to anyone. Non-clients pay $30 for a standalone scan. Current Elevate clients receive scans at no charge as part of their regular reassessments.

How should I prepare for a body composition scan?
For the most accurate results, avoid eating or drinking for two to four hours beforehand, skip intense exercise the day of, and avoid caffeine and alcohol the day before. Normal hydration in the days leading up to the scan helps too.

How long does the scan take?
The scan itself takes about 45 seconds. Plan for a total visit of around 15 minutes including reviewing your results.

How often should I get rescanned?
Every four to six weeks is the sweet spot. Frequent enough to see meaningful change, infrequent enough that the results reflect real progress rather than daily fluctuation.

Body Composition Analysis displays the weight of Total Body Water (intramuscular water and extracellular water), Dry Lean Mass, and Body Fat Mass. Body weight is the total of these three components.

2

Muscle Fat Analysis uses bar graphs to provide a comparison between weight, skeletal muscle mass and body fat mass. The lengths of the bar graphs indicate the relationship between the current weight to the average value for that specific segment, based on your height.

3

Obesity Analysis displays both BMI and Percent Body Fat (PBF). PBF is a more accurate measure of your health because it compares your fat levels to your weight. Elevate Fitness does not focus on BMI even though it is included in the InBody technology.

4

The Segmental Lean Analysis graph is an effective and informed assessment of lean mass distribution within the five segments of your body. This helps us closely monitor changes and make necessary adjustments.

5

After a body composition test is taken, results are saved in order to show the changes to your body composition over time. This cumulative graph quickly allows us to see your progress and make dietary-exercise modifications.

6

Body Fat Mass-Lean Body Mass Control gives us a guideline to adjust diet and exercise in order to attain a healthy percent body fat.

7

Lean Body Mass is the sum of the Total Body Water and Dry Lean Mass.

8

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the amount of calories a person needs to keep the body functioning while at rest. A person with more Lean Body Mass would have a higher BMR than a person with less Lean Body Mass.
